Hello

I am a mountain man at heart. I have always lived near or in the mountains and they are where I feel at home.  I currently reside in Durango, Colorado where I enjoy running, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, photography, and the occasional camping trip.  When I am not enjoying the fresh mountain air, you can find me playing video games, reading a book or comic, watching a movie, or building Legos. That is if I am not learning or tinkering with some new technology that I want to learn more about.

I like to think of myself as equal parts left and right brain.  When I was growing up I was often creating art and for many years wanted to be a hand drawn animator and work for Disney Animation Studios.  That all changed in late middle school when I watched Toy Story for the first time.  Although, I immensely enjoyed that movie, I realized that traditional animation was not going to survive and be a viable career for much longer, so I started learning computer animation.  An odd thing happened as I was doing that.  I found that I liked the computer and technology I was doing my art on just as much as the art.  That began a lifelong journey of learning as much about computers, networking, security, and infrastructure as I could.

Even though I went on to get a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and have worked in Information Technology for the last 18 years post college, I still use my creative side quite often.  It helps me to approach difficult problems from different perspectives, come up with novel ways to solve them, empathize with the client or user having the problem, and then be able to communicate the solution in a non-technical way. My creative and artistic side has given me the emotional intelligence that is lacking in a lot of pure technical resources.  I have both the technical and soft skills to make a difference in your company.
